Best songs of 2013: #16 “The Motion”-Drake ft. Sampha

Yes, some of the best work he’s done has been with his main producer 40, but I feel Mr. Graham needs to work more with Sampha because between this and “Too Much”, these two have a hot streak that will hopefully stick.

Best songs of 2013: #13 “Ya Hey”-Vampire Weekend

Of the five instant classics on this album (“Step”, “Diane Young”, “Unbelievers”, “Hannah Hunt”  and this), this insightful and powerful song stands out above the rest, dishing out heavy religious undertones (“Through the fire and through the flames, you won’t even say your name”) that allude to God (“I am that I am”) and the disillusioned (“Zion doesn’t love you, Babylon don’t love you”).
